Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas and Ambetter. Also, if you receive any Out of Network (OON) benefits from your insurance coverage I can offer a receipt with appropriate details for you to request reimbursement from your insurance carrier if applicable.
What are your rates?
My rates is $210 per session depending. The intake (first) session, is $250 which typically is longer and we will discuss your history, background, and goals for therapy.
What payment do you accept?
I accept cash, check, and credit cards. I can also run FSA and HSA cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the appointment. Appointments that are missed or cancelled less than 24 hours will be charged a fee of $100. Appointments can be cancelled via telephone or through the client portal.
What can I expect in the first therapy session?
The intake appointment typically lasts 60-75 minutes and is a time for us to get to know each other. I ask questions about the reason you are seeking therapy, symptoms, medical, mental health, family, and other pertinent history. This is also a time for you to ask me questions and figure out if my style is right for you. It can sometimes take a few sessions for me to offer a diagnosis and to get a feel of my therapy style.
What is your therapy style?
I use a collaborative approach with my clients. While we use diagnosis for billing and insurance, I have found that people do not fit neatly into boxes. A large part of mental health recovery is finding your own voice and learning to advocate and trust yourself again. This can look like more and/or less structure depending on your needs, preferences, and goals.
How often will we meet?
When I first start therapy with someone, I recommend meeting every week. This provides consistency and adequate time and space to process what is happening in your life. This is flexible depending on your individual needs.
Do you work with teens and couples?
I do not. I only work with individuals who are 18 and older.
