Body Shame Recovery.

Our relationships with our bodies are complex. The influences of diet culture, societal “norms”, family messaging all shape how we view our bodies, food, and movement. Breaking free and repairing trust with your body is some of the most meaningful work anyone can do. I utilize principles from Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating®, and Body Trust® to help clients rebuild their relationships with their bodies are recover from body shame and control behaviors. This work often begins by understanding the impact of diet culture, writing your body story, and rebuilding trust with your thought, food, and movement behaviors.

Every single human has a body that experiences stigmatization that can result in body shame, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other disordered eating behaviors. If you are interested in addressing body shame in therapy, please contact me to set up a free phone consultation.
